We have a busy schedule this month so I am hoping that everyone will put the following on their calendar.
This Thursday, November 10, is our regular meeting and we will honor our Veterans. We will also be collecting toys for the River of Trees event. The club will be decorating a tree with children’s Christmas ornaments and toys underneath it. Proceeds from the sale of the tree will benefit the Colonial Theater and Downtown Alliance. Both groups have children’s programs that our Kiwanis Club supports. The event dates are November 25, 26 and 27 at the building at the old Stacy’s Hallmark Store. We only have a few weeks left so please bring the toys in soon.
Also this Thursday, November 10th, is the 44th Kiwanis Auction. Many thanks to those of you who have contributed. It will be a fun filled event and a chance to hang out with Kiwanians and friends outside of our meetings. Larry has again put together a terrific auction. You won’t want to miss it! It’s a great way to get some shopping done too!
Thursday, November 17, will be our regular meeting and then we will meet the following Tuesday, November 22, instead of Thursday. The 22nd will be joint with Rotary. Both of these days we will be collecting food for the needy. I know it seems like a lot in such a short period of time, but we can have such a positive impact on so many lives if we all pitch in.
November 19th is the Fall training Conference in Portsmouth. Registration is available at
http://www.newenglandkiwanis.org/events/FTC.html. This is open to all Kiwanians.
As a final note, please make an effort to attend the luncheon meetings. Your participation is what makes our club a success. See you Thursday, noon, and also at the Black and White!
Yours in Kiwanis,
