The club hosted Donna Strickler, executive director of the Sexual Assault Crisis & Support Center. She described the efforts undertaken to lessen the trauma of sexual assault and promote healing for people affected by sexual violence. Their services include a 24-hour support line, hosting support groups, providing referrals to other agencies, and crisis intervention.
They provide the only accredited children’s advocacy center in Maine through the Children’s Advocacy Center of Kennebec & Somerset Counties. More information is available at www.silentnomore.org.

Augusta resident Scott Milewski presented pictures and stories of his recent trip to Guatemala while representing the CenterPoint Community Church (Waterville). His group was teamed up with other churches to provide a range of assistance including building a storage building for a medical clinic, distributing medicines, conducting treatment assessments, and dental work.
