Bill Bridgeo introduced our speaker, Kevin Mattson of Dirigo Capital Advisors, who provided some insights on the business and management of real estate development. He highlighted the effort to take the former MaineGeneral Hospital site in Augusta, now known as the Ballard Center, and turn it into a productive community asset.
Kevin’s presentation included overviews of important due diligence considerations, the process of risk assessment and financial modeling, and noted that the Ballard Center is 62% occupied with long-term financing in place.
Kiwanian Beth Crummett was presented with the Kiwanis Foundation of New England Red Jacket. Beth’s support of our Foundation’s signature program, The Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Institute is celebrated by all of us. KPTI was the first pediatric trauma center in the world to provide medical care for injured children, conduct research on pediatric trauma, and initiate injury prevention programs for families.
