Meeting of January 19th

Note:  we need 30 members each week to guarantee our minimum at the Senator.  Please join us.  A lot of the “snow birds” are gone for the winter.

Stephen P. Pecukonis, principal consultant and trainer for HRD Associates, Topsham, Gave Kiwanis members Thursday an overview of the work of the Kennebec Leadership Institute.
Founded by the Kennebec Valley Chamber of Commerce 25 years ago, the Institute was described by Pecukonis as “an incredible resource to train and involve people in community programs.”  One of the first of its kind in New England, the Institute sponsors panels and speakers to build leadership skills and develop better employees and family providers.
Among the areas addressed by the program, according to Pecukonis, are Kennebec Valley issues, government issues at all levels, safety and emergency preparedness to deal with natural disasters, educational and economic development, energy and energy technology, and the past, present and future of downtowns in Kennebec Valley.
